ANOU

Russian Cats Inverell NSW
Kitten Availability

It is Anou's aim as responsible breeders registered through NSW CFA (64650) to ensure that all kittens are placed in loving, safe & nurturing homes. Their kitten order form is designed with this in mind. Anou encourages and welcomes communication with all adopting parents so that they can get to know them and guide them through the adoption process. They are contactable via email at any time and are happy to provide a mobile phone number for further communication or to answer any questions adopting parents may have. Information about prices, the adoption process, inclusions and exclusions are available on their Kitten Breeding Policy.

There are a number of factors that may impact upon the availability of kittens. These include the number of kittens born, the gender ratio of males to females, and the number of blue, white or black kittens in a mixed-colour litter. While Anou Russian Cats is committed to providing all potential adopting parents with the kitten of their choice, wait times may be longer for adopting parents who prefer a specific colour and/or gender. Anou Russian Cats aims to have Russian litters in 8 week cycles throughout the year to reduce overcrowding and the risk of cross-contamination between litters should illness occur. It is rare that Anou will have kittens available immediately, as first preference is always given to patient & committed people on their waiting list.
After paying a 10% reservation fee of $250.00, clients of Anou Russian Cats gain full access to their client dashboard where they receive regular updates about matings, pregnancies and the birth of litters, as well as access to videos as each litter grows, right up to the day of adoption and for 12 months following. Anou also provides all the information you could ever need about adopting and raising one of their kittens. View their Latest Video of Anou's last litter.

Current & Future Litters

The mating between Anou's imported cats Cherubina De Gabriac of Silver Fest (Russia) and Isaac Asimov of True Blue (Poland) has been successful, and Anou is expecting their litter in 11 days time. This is the first 'non-Australian' mating, and Anou is excited to see what will result from their Polish x Russian mating. All kittens will be blue Russians. (Anou has a waiting list through until the end of 2026 with only a few possible positions remaining... )

Just this morning May 1st, Anou's Queen Nina Berberova was mated by Anou Alexander Pushkin. Extending daylight hours with artificial light seems to have paid off! Nina's kittens will arrive in 15 days time, if the mating this morning was successful. Anou expects an entirely blue litter of Russian kittens! Have you placed your order yet? (Anou are now taking orders for kitten adoptions in late 2026 and early 2027... )

Anou is now planning the next mating between their Russian white Queen Sofija with their young blue sire, Anou Yury Dombrovsky. This will be Yury's first attempt at mating, so hopefully all goes well! 15 days This may well be the last chance you will have to get a kitten this year, so enquire today to get your name onto Anou's waiting list! (Blue Russian & White Russian kittens will be expected in the last round of litters... )

Due to current high demand, and with winter approaching (slow season) Anou has again paired white Russian Zima with black Russian Mikey and due in 20 days . They are hoping for another beautiful tri-coloured litter of blue, white and black kittens. Mikey and Zima has in the past produced stunning kittens, so Anou is hoping to keep a kitten from this mating! (Anou is now taking orders for kittens into early to mid 2027... )

Anou has just recently mated Mila (Russian black) with their big & beautiful Teddy Bear Archangeli Tito. Four beautiful kittens arrived 2 months & 5 days ago! Mila had 3 blue kittens and one black kitten. Two blue kittens and the black kitten were girls, while the remaining blue kitten was a boy! (Kittens are no longer available for order until late in 2026 or early 2027... )

Coming next... (Stay tuned...... )

Kittens are generally ready for their new homes at 12-13 weeks of age, following desexing once the kittens have reached 1kg in weight. As the demand for Russian kittens is quite high, Anou requires adopting parents to place an order with them for the kitten of their choice, accompanied by a 10% (of purchase price) reservation fee, to avoid disappointment and demonstrate their commitment to purchasing a kitten. The reservation fee is not refundable if a client should change their mind or find another kitten from a different breeder. Anou breeds kittens for people, not just for the sake of breeding; they prefer to have owners for kittens before bringing new babies into the world.

Don't Like Waiting?

Unfortunately, breeding is a waiting game; the whole process is complex, costly and time-consuming. Anou must plan matings and wait for Queens to come into season before putting them with the chosen sire. The time it takes from mating  to adoption alone is 5 months: 2 months of gestation followed by 3 months of raising, weaning, toilet-training, vaccinations, worming treatment, socialisation, feeding, cleaning and desexing. Anou is required by law to ensure that their Queens have a decent break between litters, and are permitted to produce 3 litters over a 2 year period. As a consequence, Anou Russian Cats staggers it's litters by 8 weeks to space out their breeding program and to avoid overcrowding and the problems it can cause. Anou Russian Cats seek committed and patient people to adopt their kittens, realising that some things are worth waiting for, such as an affectionate companion who will live for 15 - 17 years (sometimes as much as 20 years).

Generally, Anou Russian Cats prefers that kittens are collected from their cattery so that they can meet adoptive parents in person and provide as much information as possible to make the adoption process seamless and enjoyable. Of course, this may not always be possible for adopting parents who reside interstate. Anou works with all interstate adopting parents to organise travel for their kitten through a reputable pet transport company. Transportation costs are additional to the cost of the kitten.

Kitten Transport

Anou Russian Cats is pleased to now be partnered with Dog Movers, who will offer great deals on transporting your kitten by road between Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne from Inverell (plus other places in NSW, ACT, QLD and VIC). Phone: (07) 5530-2710 and just mention Anou Russian Cats when making your booking, and Emma will offer you the best deal possible! Please understand that interstate transport is not always cheap, but Anou has sourced the most cost effective means of transport. Please factor this extra cost  in when considering your purchase!
