Director & Designer

Paul joined Sharon in 1999 and quickly began the long process of learning web design to increase Anou's online presence. Now retired from teaching, he has time to devote to web design, handyman & renovation work.

Anou Russian Cats

The original Anou Russian Blue Cattery was established in Inverell in 1993, with by the invaluable assistance of the late Avis Rosten with cats such as Oasis Silver Surprise, Keehotay Samuda, Keehotay Sizyi Shaheeda, Keehotay Saskia Seroschka, Keehotay Rosa-Sharn, Taiendi Shulamit and Reuwlix Baykova, as well as cats from Sandra Weaver-Hall's Obanya (Obanya Silver Anou), Bev Allen's  Riverlight (Riverlight Black Tsar) & Modjo Cattery (Modjo Blu Nahiema). Life and career changes took Sharon and Paul to Broken Hill in the far west of NSW. Both climate and career made it less opportune to continue the Russian breeding program, so it ceased in 2008 after 15 years, and the remaining breeding stock was rehoused in good homes. Further career changes led the founders to Armidale on the northern tablelands of NSW, where Sharon undertook an Honours Degree, followed by her PhD, which she completed in 2017.

Settled and comfortable now in a new home and career in ARMIDALE NSW, Sharon and Paul recommenced their Russian breeding program in May, 2021. They have now re-acquired their former Anou and Keehotay breeding lines, along with quality lines from Golash, Samnicki, and Tintola to re-establish their stock of quality Russian Cats. Anou breeds Russian Black, Russian Blue and Russian White kittens both for the local Australian market and select foreign breeders. Look at their "Kittens" page for further information on upcoming kitten availability, or drop a line to make an enquiry.

Anou Jack Russell's

Sharon and Paul purchased their first Jack Russell in 2011, and appropriately named him "Snoopy". He quickly became a loyal and much loved companion, proving his intelligence by learning many words and commands. He bonded very strongly to his parents, particularly to Sharon while Paul worked away from home for twelve months.

Sadly, Snoopy succumbed to cancer a short while ago and is greatly missed. His presence and gift to their lives has led Sharon and Paul to purchase a new Jack Russell puppy called "Dougal". They have purchased a girlfriend for Dougal ("Elsie Marley") in February 2021. Unfortunately, Elsie & Dougal were unable to mate successfully, so Elsie was desexed in 2024. Anou's Jack Russells still play a vital role in the socialisation of their Russian kittens, much to their chagrin at times!
